NMR instrumentation/methodology position
A permanent position is opened for a researcher in NMR instrumentation/methodology at CEA/Saclay, France, in the Unit NIMBE (Nanoscience & Innovation for Materials, Biomedicine and Energy, UMR CEA-CNRS 3685).
A new research axis is under development in the laboratory, in particular to:
- Enable the structural study of anisotropic materials and systems in operation using localized spectroscopy of semi-solids, with immediate application on liquid and solid-state batteries (a theme actively developed within the NIMBE). To this end, new instrumental and methodological developments using magic angle spinning techniques and recent MRI advances will be necessary.
- Gain in sensitivity by combining hyperpolarization (noble gas optical pumping and parahydrogen) and solid-state NMR as well as developing continuous-flow hyperpolarization in liquid, which requires solving some instrumental issues.
By joining the multidisciplinary team of the LSDRM (Laboratory Structure & Dynamics by Magnetic Resonance), the successful candidate will take an active part in the deployment of this scientific activity, including the supervision of students, partnership research, the setting up and monitoring of projects.
He/she will have the following qualifications:
- Skills in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (fundamental with training in MRI)
- Research experience from 2 to 5 years after the PhD
- Team spirit.
Interested candidates should contact Dr. Patrick Berthault (patrick.berthault@cea.fr) or Dr. Thibault Charpentier (thibault.charpentier@cea.fr) and provide a complete CV, a motivation letter and two references (contacts or letters).
