We develop a range of gyrotron systems for use in Dynamic Nuclear Polarization enhanced Nuclear Mangetic Resonance (DNP-NMR) spectroscopy, plasma heating and diagnostics and material processing. These gyrotrons range in power from a few watts to hundreds of kW. A 10 kW, 170 GHz continuous wave gyrotron tube is shown on the right. This device operates in a 6.3 T superconducting magnet.
We have developed gyrotrons with permanent magnets for special applications. A 90 kW long pulse W-band gyrotron operating in the second harmonic with a hybrid (electromagnet and a permanent magnet) is shown on the left.
Unlike standard fixed frequency gyrotrons available in the market, Bridge12’s gyrotrons are designed to be tunable to allow users to conduct versatile DNP-NMR experiments like measuring the enhancement field profile to determine the frequency for maximum enhancement and also to work with a range of polarizing agents. DNP-NMR systems equipped with tunable gyrotrons do not need expensive sweep coil in the NMR magnet. This reduces cost as well as provides the ability to upgrade existing NMR setups without having the need to replace the NMR magnet. Typical frequency tuning characteristics of our 395 GHz gyrotron is shown on the right. An additional 0.35 GHz tuning is available by integrated temperature control
Bridge12 can provide a gyrotron, transmission line, and a solid-state MAS NMR probe in collaboration with our partners, JEOL, Phoenix NMR. Our solution will leverage your existing NMR spectrometer to provide a fast, cost-effective and versatile path to adding DNP capability.
