the Institute of Process Imaging at Hamburg University of Technology is looking for an RF engineer to manage the RF lab of our MRI facility in a permanent position. We develop time-efficient MRI hardware and methods that allow us to decipher flow and reaction processes in industrial and biotechnological systems. ENGLISH JOB DESCRIPTION:

YOUR TASKS:

  • Technical management of a worldwide unique large-scale MRI device and the associated high-frequency laboratory at the TU Hamburg campus.
  • Maintenance, installation, and repair of acquisition hardware, e.g. gradient amplifiers, RF amplifiers, duplexers, cooling units as well as general electrical work.
  • Development and construction of innovative coils for MRI, e.g. digital acquisition (integrated ADC), coil arrays, microcoils, and surface coils.
  • Development of control elements for experiments, e.g. using microcontrollers to control procedurally relevant experiments and synchronize them with the MR acquisition system.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Completed Bachelor studies or comparable studies in the field of electrical engineering as well as other employees with equivalent skills and experience.

ADVANTAGE:

  • Independent, motivated and reliable way of working.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of German
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Experience with the construction of antennas or coils in the megahertz range or experience with microelectronics.
  • MRI or NMR experience
