Member of the NMR application and research platform, responsible for NMR in solution and hyperpolarized by dissolution DNP
Main duties of the position:
50% Host platform engineer, with responsibility for NMR projects in solution
50% Hyperpolarized NMR research within the HMRlab group.
Context :
In anticipation of the replacement of the Research Engineer in place, of the call for a position on a permanent contract, the CRMN is recruiting an Engineer on a fixed-term contract for a period of 12 months.
Hierarchical positioning:
The recruited Research Engineer will be a member of the RMN platform pole as well as of the HMRlab group led by Sami Jannin.
Details of activities:
In charge of hosting NMR projects in solution (biomolecular, metabolomics, reaction, affinity) in the context of the national NMR platform at Very High Fields and industrial projects.
Get to know the projects upstream, participate in the reception, carry out the follow-up of the project (sending of data, analyzes and possible reports).
Ensure the follow-up of consumables (NMR tubes, solvents) and the liquid nitrogen filling of the magnet on which the user is working.
Be in contact with Bruker for the maintenance of spectrometers (600, 700, 800, 1000, including cryoprobes and cryoplatforms).
Interventions, in particular in the event of an automatic emergency call (magnet pumps).
Follow-up of the installation of a liquefaction system, commissioning and supervision of its operation. Logistic organization of helium deliveries in conjunction with the other engineers on the platform.
Internet and telephony network correspondent with the local university service provider.
Hyperpolarized NMR research.
The engineer will first be trained in the use of dissolution-DNP instrumentation and sample preparation.
Support the team in the implementation and respect of good practices (security, use of devices, common areas).
Be in contact with Bruker for the maintenance of dissolution-DNP devices (F80, dDNP)
Participate in research work and industrial contracts in synergy with Sami Jannin’s group.
Possibly supervise interns and doctoral students, present results at conferences, and write articles.
Skills :
Experience in multi-dimensional liquid NMR (biomolecules) required, and in hyperpolarized NMR desired.
Contract :
CDD 12 months renewable (possible competition for the CDI position) with taking office this spring 2022.
