Dear all,
we have an open position suitable for a PhD student or Postdoc to develop dilution-free bullet-dynamic nuclear polarisation at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
The project is part of the recently funded Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) HyPERiON - High Performance Compact Magnetic Resonance, a highly interdisciplinary project that simultaneously tackles miniaturization, sensitization and serialization of magnetic resonance experiments. The CRC is funded by the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft), and is a collaboration between 16 research groups at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, the University of Konstanz, and the University of Stuttgart.
Within this project, you will join the Hyperpolarized Magnetic Resonance group at KIT and develop dilution-free, micro-litre scale bullet-dynamic nuclear polarization, with the objective to achieve the highest possible liquid-state NMR sensitivity for mass-limited samples. The achieved sensitivity gains will be put to immediate use in applications such as magnetic resonance-based drug-screening (linked to the ERC funded HiSCORE project). A second strand of activities within the project concerns the development of broadband NMR/EPR to observe, understand and exploit field-dependent relaxation processes in solid samples.

Candidates should hold a masters degree in Physics, Physical Chemistry or a related area, and have a strong interest in working at the interface of engineering and quantum technologies. Prior experience in magnetic resonance and/or instrumentation development is required for applicants at the postdoc level, and beneficial for applicants for a PhD position.
For further information on this position, and how to apply visit https://www.pse.kit.edu/karriere/joboffer.php?id=91339&new=true
The deadline for applications is October 26, 2022.
All the best,
Benno
