Dear magnetic resonance enthusiasts,
Global NMR Discussion Meetings will conduct the 2nd annual Twitter Conference this summer, from July 19-21, on the development and application of magnetic resonance, to provide opportunities to all interested students, postdocs, and researchers to present their work, facilitate open discussions, and promote networking across the wider magnetic resonance community. The Twitter conference will be fully online and will last three days, allowing participants to freely engage with one another. Access is completely free and open to everyone! There are no travel or registration costs. The conference is generously supported by the International Society of Magnetic Resonance (ISMAR), Bruker, JEOL, Phoenix NMR, Bridge12 Technologies, Inc., and NMR Online.
Register by Friday, July 7 (https://forms.gle/DcRFrsnMQEp5Yi638) to be considered for prizes!
Building on the success of last year’s Global NMR Twitter Conference, we invite participants to upload a short (2-minute) video or a poster to present their work. Innovative formats and high quality work will be recognized with prizes. Creative, easy to understand presentations in the form of short videos are highly encouraged.
Question: How will the conference work?
Answer: Advertise your work in the form of a short video (2-minutes or less), an animated slideshow, or a poster, which you will post on Twitter on July 19th. Make sure to include the conference hashtag #GlobalnmrTC2023. View Tweets from others, ask questions, and answer questions asked of your work! Videos and animated slide shows are highly encouraged!
Prizes will be awarded only to students and postdocs who register by July 7. Others are welcome and encouraged to participate, but will not be eligible for prizes.
Question: How should I make a 2-minute video?
Answer: There are many good ways to make a short video! For examples of presentations from last year, we invite you to search Twitter for the hashtag #GlobalnmrTC2022.
A straightforward way to make a simple video presentation is to use Zoom (or another screen recording application) to record yourself talking through a short 2-minute presentation.
- Start a Zoom meeting with just yourself.
- Open your presentation (Powerpoint slide, poster, other format). Share your screen, and start recording the Zoom meeting.
- Talk through your presentation. When you are done, stop recording (or just end the meeting).
- View the saved recording and make sure you are happy with the presentation.
- Post the recording on Twitter on July 19th!
- If you have technical questions, or if you have difficulty accessing Twitter, please contact us at globalnmr.twitterconference@gmail.com.
Upon registration, participants acknowledge:
- All content shall be posted on Twitter, and consequently all presentations can be viewed by anyone on the internet
- Global NMR Discussion Meetings has the rights to share the uploaded presentations on Twitter, YouTube, or the Global NMR website.
We look forward to receiving your registrations!
Best Regards,
Global NMR Discussion Meetings
