The Debelouchina lab at UC San Diego has two open postdoctoral positions in the general areas of structural biology and chemical biology. Our lab combines NMR spectroscopy and chemical tools to study proteins involved in gene regulation and aging, and we also develop sensitivity enhanced NMR approaches for structural biology in cells. We have access to 600 MHz, 750 MHz, 800 MHz, and 900 MHz NMR spectrometers for both solution and solid-state NMR spectroscopy, as well as a 600 MHz DNP NMR spectrometer. UC San Diego and the surrounding institutes provide numerous opportunities for collaboration and professional development. Expected start date is summer 2024. If interested, please contact Prof. Galia Debelouchina (gdebelouchina@ucsd.edu) with cover letter, CV and the names of three potential references.
Position 1: The postdoctoral researcher will be studying the interactions of chromatin binding proteins and/or proteins involved in neurodegenerative disease, and will be involved in MAS NMR methodology development for biological systems. Experience with protein purification and biomolecular solid-state NMR spectroscopy as evidenced by a strong record of publications is required for this position.

Position 2: We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with strong background in synthetic chemistry and/or protein chemistry (as evidenced by a strong record of publication) to work on the development of targeted DNP approaches for structural biology in cells. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in synthesis, interest in biological applications, and experience with NMR spectroscopy. Experience in solid-state NMR spectroscopy, and/or DNP, and/or protein work will be a plus.
