Dear NMR Enthusiast,
The 8th Educational Tutorial will be given by Prof. Olivier Lafon from Univ. Lille on the topic:
“NMR observation of quadrupolar nuclei and their neighbors in solids”.
Here are the webinar details:
Topic: DNP/NMR Educational Tutorial
Time: Friday, June 26, 2020, 08:30 AM California or 5:30 PM Paris or 9:00 PM Delhi
Join Meeting: https://ucsb.zoom.us/j/95617252728
Meeting ID: 956 1725 2728
Abstract:
Quadrupolar nuclei with nuclear spin I ≥ 1, including 27Al, 17O or 35Cl, represent 75% of NMR-active nuclei and their NMR observation is useful for the characterization of catalysts, energy materials, pharmaceuticals, etc. This tutorial will present the main experimental approaches used for acquiring NMR spectra of quadrupolar nuclei in solids and probing the covalent bonds and the spatial proximities between these isotopes and nearby nuclei.
Speaker’s Biographical info:
2006 PhD, Dept. of Chemistry, Univ. Paris Sud
2006-2007 Postdoc, CEA, Saclay
2007-2011 Assistant professor, ENSCL
2011-onwards Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, Univ. Lille
2016-onwards Junior member of IUF
The current format of the tutorial will consist of a 35-minute talk which will include both basic and advanced material and 25-minute discussion.
Best regards,
